The demo and example data

Try SupplierVault with made-up data: how the public demo works, loading example suppliers into your own organisation, and removing them.

You can explore SupplierVault with made-up data in two ways: the public demo, which needs no account, or example data loaded into your own organisation when you create it. Neither touches real suppliers.

The public demo

Open the live demo from the website. You don't need an account.

  • It opens as an example procurement lead (Amira), with a full set of made-up suppliers, sourcing events, tasks, invoices and people.
  • The banner reads Live demo: "Made-up data, saved only in this browser". Anything you change is kept in your browser only. Nobody else sees it, and it isn't sent to SupplierVault.
  • Click Reset to put the example data back as it was.
  • Every feature is switched on. There are no plan limits in the demo.
  • In the demo, Viewing as (top bar) sets who you're acting as. Some actions need a named person, such as "Sign off and go live" or releasing a bank detail change, which needs a second person. Switch "Viewing as" to try them.
  • The AI assistant in the demo doesn't use AI. It answers a set of common questions (what needs attention, notice deadlines, tier recommendations, drafting a renewal email, a supplier summary, pre-filling a purchase request) from the demo data in your browser. The contract and invoice readers use a simple text reader instead of AI. The real service uses Anthropic's Claude.
  • The supplier portal can be previewed with Open supplier view, so you can see what a supplier would see.
Don't put real supplier information into the demo. Use the free trial instead: it's private to your organisation and your data is kept when you choose a plan.

Example data in your own organisation

When you create an organisation, tick Start with example suppliers so I can explore. You can remove them with one click later. The same made-up records are loaded, using your organisation's name.

  • Example data can only be loaded when the organisation is created. It can't be added later.
  • Example suppliers don't count towards your plan's supplier limit.
  • The Dashboard's Get set up checklist still shows while example data exists. Example suppliers don't tick "Import or add your suppliers": only real ones do.
  • Admins can add example data later from an empty page with Load example data. It adds the example records only and never changes your settings.
  • Example records look like real ones, so keep real work away from them. Removing example data only removes records that are marked as examples.

A banner shows at the top while example data is loaded: Example data. "These suppliers, sourcing events, people and invoices are made up to show how the hub works."

Remove the example data

  1. In the Example data banner, click Remove example data. (Admins and editors only.)
  2. Confirm "Remove all example records?" with Remove, or click Keep to cancel.
  3. You'll see "Example data removed".

This removes the example suppliers, sourcing events, tasks, activity, invoices, savings, stakeholders, category plans, purchase requests and files. Your own real records are left alone, even ones you added to an example supplier's area. Example history entries are the only audit trail entries that can ever be removed.

After removing example data, run the setup guide (Settings › Run the setup guide) and add your own team and suppliers. See Set up SupplierVault.

Good to know

  • Tasks, invoices or files you added yourself to an example supplier aren't marked as examples, so they stay behind after removal without their supplier. Delete them on the Tasks or Payments pages.
  • If the banner still shows after removal, refresh the page. If it persists, an example record is still there; contact hello@suppliervault.co.uk.
Still have a question?Email hello@suppliervault.co.uk or use the contact form. Try anything safely in the live demo.
